One of the jobs I used to have was designing websites. I still do a little of it. With that I did a lot of computer graphics work in Photoshop. Those skills transfer well to cross stitch design and the software involved. So I'm going to be putting out my own designs soon-ish. A while back I emailed a cross stitch designer I buy things from and asked him a question about the software he uses and his process. I didn't really expect a detailed answer because why should he give away his hard earned secrets to someone who may become a competitor. But he answered with this wonderful, detailed email that helped me greatly. Some people are good.

I have to say I have been very pleasantly surprised by how helpful people can be. When I first started a framer from a different company (so again, a competitor) spent all sorts of time talking with me about stuff and showing me things. It was very kind.
