Good Day, Stitchers,

I have some news...

After much consideration, I have decided to rename the store. Keeping the store's name made sense at first as that's how everyone knew it, not to mention there was a bunch of business cards and letterhead to use up. But now people are starting to get to know me, the business cards have almost run out, and it feels a bit strange using someone else's name... even if it is the name of someone as fabulous as Sheena.

So the store's new name is "Lizzy B's Needle Art Supplies and Custom Picture Framing"... "Lizzy B's" for short. I know what you're thinking: but Barb, your name isn't Lizzy, either. True, but it's not the name of a real person. The Lizzy B in question is Elizabeth Bennet from the Jane Austen novel Pride & Prejudice, one of my favourite literary characters. I wanted a store name that had a person's name in it as I felt it seemed more personal than something like "A Stitch In Time" or the like. Plus, they did a lot of embroidery in Lizzy Bennet's day.  After I picked the name I was very nervous about telling Sheena as I didn't want it to seem like I was erasing her, but she was super supportive. I will, of course, continue to honour the store's history.

It will be a slow change over. The outdoor signs are expensive so they won't be done for a while and the letterhead and business cards will get done eventually. The website will be switched over to www.lizzyb.ca soon, and my new email address is [email protected] (although the old one will still work).

Thanks for all your support over the last year and a half. I'm looking forward to a bright future for Lizzy B's. Pop by and see us soon!

Barb
